More or Less
And it's funny, the ps2 is now getting old in a way.
they also did that for the ps1 long ago, when ps2 was new
there was like ps1 ported versions of the ps2 games.
then you got those dang compareing PS3 and Xbox 360 got everything and more.
when the old port versions well i can understand it were down graded and removed a few things to make it fit.
Anyone still owns a ps2 only and buying the newest ps2 version ported games base on the new gen ones? |

I still have mine because I play alot of my old favorites. I'm an RPG fan and the ps2 provided, so I was pretty keen on the continued use of it. Most now are being ported so when I get myself a PSP Go, I can download them to my system. |

((Chess,
Don't be dissin' the old PS2. It has some of the mostest awesomest games ever! EVER!
Though... few games really equal the sheer awesomeness of Valkyrie Profile and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night for the PS1...
Or... for you older fans, the old TSR, AD&D games like Pools of Radiance.)) |

Yes i know the ps2 is awsome i still got mine and still buying newer games for it to, it's just funny compareing the ps2 and next gen version isn't the same, making almost like a different kind of game.
if you ever played "Spider Man Web Of Shadows" for ps2 LOL so not like next gen version not even clost to it.
Lets see the best ps1 games I have and own are
Final Fantsy 7
Every Resident Evil game series for the ps1
Silent Hill 1, another best "retro" horror game.
Metal Gear Solid
Tenchu 1 and 2.
All Tekken's games
Crash Bandicoot 3
Syphon Filter "I love that game"
Marvel Vs Capcom 1, great home port version alittle different from the arcade version tho.
Darkstalkers 3 *use to love this game"
Bloody Roar 1 and 2, who can't forget this game fighters that transforms in were-beast like creatures.
Jackie Chan Stunt Master, it's a cute fun game.
Ready2Rumble Round 2, yes i only got the ps1 port becuase i got it loong ago before i own a ps2.
Fear Effect, almost forgot about this title, awsome anime horror game.
Hmmm... thats all i can think about i do got more ps1 games not really famous titles like "Galerians", "MDK",and
"Tail Conerto" a cute furry 3d adventure game |

It's like if Final Fantasy and Resident Evil was fused together.
pretty good survive the horror RPG.
I like the year time base style like 1800's
Swords, Muskets, Pistols and magic. |

I've played both dot hack games, the Infection through Quarantine which came first starring the twin blad, Kite. The the GU series which featured the Multiweapon, Haseo, which was alot better due to its innovative character design capable of wielding multiple types of weapons (My favorite being the scythe) |

What? That's ridiculous. The PS3 has full backwards compatability for every PS1 and PS2 game. It was one of the major selling points it had over the Xbox 360 when they came out together.
And I agree, Rune, the G.U. series was and is infinitely superior to the first. |

Since when? I've been playing PS1&2 games on my PS3 for years, ever since I got it, and I still can, so what in the world are you talking about? |

Oh, that's what you meant. Well, that's just plain idiotic. What in the world possessed those people to take out one of the PS3's most valuable features? Sounds like insanity, a sales death wish or sabotage to me. |

*cough*sonys very very greedy*cough*
example: PSP go, makes already psp users have to rebuy their games to play on that since its download only and they made no way to transfer games. |

I have a Wii as well, but Playstation has always been my favorite and will continue to be so into the forseeable future. |

Yes Sony did got great title games and still do
But I heard ps3 was going down hill alittle because... there isn't enough
good game titles out, like the "good old days" Sony games.
Like Xbox360 and Wii is making more money etc stuff like that. |

Hmmm, since I am getting that PSP GO, I might as well list some games that Sony had that I'll be downloading anyways.
Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth
Darkstalkers
Disgaea 1 and 2
Soul Nomad
Final Fantasy 7 (Or all of them)
Wild Arms
Final Fantasy Tactics: The war of the lions
etc, too many to list
DSi:
Dragon Quest all
Valkryie Profile: Covenant of the Plume
Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift
Bangai-O Spirits
Yu-Gi-Oh (Okay, so I play the card game, its fun damn it!)
Castlevania
Advance Wars
Mario Games |

((About Koudelka: I loved the intro-chant music to that game, and the ctluthu-mythos feel of it. Wish I hadn't resold it.
Pretty much any of the NIS games I've played have been a hoot. They're all rpg-stratagy simulators, but... NIS just has gotten the "fun" part correct. Atlus also seems to have really hit the whole niche-fun market pretty well too.
About the PS3 backwards compatability: I have a backwards compatable PS3... but... I don't see all the fuss about the newer ones not having it. If you really want to play your PS2 games, couldn't you just rehook up your PS2? And, how much are the PS2 games on the PSN site?
Other awsome games from the PS1 and PS2 years, in no particular order:
Lunar
Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete
Parasite Eve 1 and 2
Valkyrie Profile
Thousand Arms
Disgaea
Rule of Rose
The Bards Tale
Chu-Chu Rocket
Any of the Katamari series
So... just some quick thoughts.)) |
