Symbology 101
Hello everyone, and welcome to Rune174's Guide for the Symbologist in Mind. I will be teaching you what I have learned over the time spent researching the ever changing symbols, and help you understand the translations to the English language. Every glyph, rune, symbol, icon, inscription, and engraving has a significant meaning, and whether it is by your definition, or that of your peers, it becomes a lesson on the depth of true meaning from any aspect of life.
A word for the wise, many of these symbols were acquired through some Realistic and fictional sources, primarily through video games, online, sources, and books on language and metaphysical properties. Therefore, this guide should not be taken seriously for any purpose whatsoever. This guide was made for entertaining purposes only, so any other use than philosophical means should not be applied. Basically, if you take this guide seriously and try to pull some BS and conjure some magical thingy, then you seriously need help.
Taken from dictionary.com
Rune
Rune\ (r[udd]n), n. [AS. r[=u]n a rune, a secret, a mystery; akin to Icel. r[=u]n, OHG. & Goth. r[=u]na a secret, secret colloquy, G. & Dan. rune rune, and probably to Gr. 'ereyna^n to search for. Cf. Roun to whisper.]
1. A letter, or character, belonging to the written language of the ancient Norsemen, or Scandinavians; in a wider sense, applied to the letters of the ancient nations of Northern Europe in general.
Note: The Norsemen had a peculiar alphabet, consisting of sixteen letters, or characters, called runes, the origin of which is lost in the remotest antiquity. The signification of the word rune (mystery) seems to allude to the fact that originally only a few were acquainted with the use of these marks, and that they were mostly applied to secret tricks, witchcrafts and enchantments. But the runes were also used in communication by writing.
All letters derived in this script are portrayed in the manner in which I have acquired them, but rest assured, they are 100% accurate or as close as possible. Some may have different versions of the upper and lower case, however, not all are as flexible.
All characters from each runic source will have a complimentary sentence at the bottom of the page displaying how it would look. Each will have the following sentence:
He sells seashells down by the seashore.
(I apologize for having everything through photobucket. I had to put all of what I had into paint so I could post this)
If you wish for me to post numbers, I'll edit this post to add to the original.
Also, if you wish to have any of the listed languages as a font for your computer, then I will post a link. |

From about 2 years of researching it. I could have put alot more info about each language, but it is okay to start off about the basics and show what the letters look like for each one. |

The meanings of runes can be used in a division of Divination. The kind of castings I do involve runes from the Elder Futhark, which includes an additional rune, which is blank. I'll see if I can find the list of their meanings as it applies to my divination, and perhaps share the formation I use, which is generally unique to the person. |

I'll just do this by request. Do you guys want me to post more info. I would have posted about four other languages, but I could not find the appropriate fonts for them via the net. |

((Rune174, I'm sure you've heard this before, but... some of your "runes" might not really qualify as runes, and might more qualify as a cypher or code... not taking away any from your work, just giving a different light on it.)) |

In its own way, it is a cypher, I just commited towards breaking them all down so that it had the exact same number of characters to the alphabet. So I guess it is more like a cypher, but most of these are more than simply 'runes', they are assortments of 'symbols' that were based off of fictional languages. |

That is my main goal Marx, however, I have already produced a cypher of runes that derived from the concepts taken from unitology and hymnos. I've only produced three letters though. |

Well, casting may seem a bit more dramatic of an act. I actually draw the runes one at a time from a bag. The process will generally seem less remarkable through the eyes of the passerby. However, it is quite fascinating for me. My eyes remain firmly closed as I draw the runes. I deeply focus on drawing the natural energies of the earth and have them guide me, which results in the stone seeming to glow and it draws my hand to it. The formation I used had 3 pairs of runes set in a triangle with a "summary" rune in the middle.
The triangle points away from me, the pair in the corner of the base on my left is the past, the point pair is the present and the other pair of the base are the future.
A rune that is upside down takes on an opposite meaning. The real test is when the question remains unasked, as it requires deeper focus and the transation can be difficult. |

I sometimes believe in the idea of how rune casting worked, but when I used to read these books and watched some old anime that used runes as a language and it always confounded me. I guess thats how it began for me. |

I use runes, sometimes too, but usually I'll use herbs, or candles.
runes are quite easier, I thought. Until they backfired on me....
I can post it here, or on a different topic..
You forgot ( and I might have forgot as well)
Thyrian runes. |

Not sure if this is the case, but for me a backfire is when the prediction or answer is the opposite of what happens. There are a few reasons why it can happen: 1.) Karma: Whatever you do shall return to you threefold. This means rewards for good deeds and punishment for bad ones. 2.) Partiality: Consistent and repetitive use of an "impartial" tool can bring about a sort of favoritism, where things such as tarot cards or runes start going more off the results you want rather than the results that are true
Those are the only two off the top of my head, not sure if that's the case for Cassandre |

Ya...I still have the scras from the burns, only special people get to see them, cuz they can only be seen when I'm totaly naked. (I preform rituals in "skyclad" a.k.a naked) |

Sorry for the pain then, I never realized that runes also could have meant some kind of hidden danger. |

I'm sure my husband wished he could see my scars... every time he asks, I just clamly look at him, and say, "Hell no."
Works like a charm. |
