An oldie but a goodie.
A man is walking to Saint Ives when he meets a man with seven wives.
Every wife has a sack.
Every sack has seven cats.
Every cat has seven kittens.
Kittens, cats, sacks and wives.
How many were going to Saint Ives? |

As far as Cats, Kittens, sacks and wives... none.
Only the man was going to St. Ives.
Who knows where the hell the rest of 'em are goin'. |

In a street there are five houses, painted five different colors. In each house lives a person of different nationality. These five homeowners each drink a different kind of beverage, smoke different brand of cigar and keep a different pet. Who owns the fish?
Clues:
The British man lives in a red house.
The Swedish man keeps dogs as pets.
The Danish man drinks tea.
The Green house is next to, and on the left of the White house.
The owner of the Green house drinks coffee.
The person who smokes Pall Mall rears birds.
The owner of the Yellow house smokes Dunhill.
The man living in the center house drinks milk.
The Norwegian lives in the first house.
The man who smokes Blends lives next to the one who keeps cats.
The man who keeps horses lives next to the man who smokes Dunhill.
The man who smokes Blue Master drinks beer.
The German smokes Prince.
The Norwegian lives next to the blue house.
The Blends smoker lives next to the one who drinks water.
MWA HA HA figure this one out. This riddle was made by Albert Einstein |

Who owns the fish? The German, who lives in the green house (which is the fourth in the row), drinks coffee and smokes Prince. I can tell you who lives where, what colour their house is, what they drink, what they smoke and what they own. Yes, I sat here and worked it all out. I love that sort of problem. I have puzzle books dedicated to them.
Yellow house is first - here lives the Norwegian, who drinks water, smokes Dunhill and owns cats.
Next comes the blue house - here lives the Danish man, who drinks tea, smokes Blends and owns horses.
In the middle is the red house - here lives the British man, who drinks milk, smokes Pall Mall and owns birds.
Fourth, as I said above, is the green house - here lives the German, who drinks coffee, smokes Prince and owns fish.
Lastly, we come to the white house - here lives the Swedish man, who drinks beer, smokes Blue Master and owns dogs. |

I have four sides, no lid, and yet treasure is often hid.
I got this off a game i play. |

It sounds like a variation of one of the riddles in "The Hobbit" which went;
A box without hinges, key or lid,
Yet golden treasure inside is hid.
What is it?
To which the answer was, an egg. Is that correct in this instance, Drof? |

Alright, I've found one that I have not yet solved (though I'm still trying). You may want a pen and paper for this one folks.
Below are pictured 5 coins (represented by X and O). Your job is to get the 3 X's together and the 2 O's together by sliding the coins. You must slide two coins at a time, an X and an O. They must start adjacent to each other, and must end adjacent to each other. They must move together as a unit. You cannot move them further apart or closer together, and you cannot turn them around, that is turn XO into OX or OX into XO. You also cannot spread the 3 remaining coins apart or push them closer together. The coins must end up in a straight line with no gaps. It can be done in just 4 moves. Can you find them?
X O X O X
And just for fun, an old classic.
"The beginning of eternity
The end of time and space
The beginning of every end,
And the end of every place."
What is it? |

The "E" riddle is an old classic. The coins seem more a mental puzzle than a riddle, but I'll give it a go. |
