You know, I actually got to sit down and play Spores over the weekend, and I will say all the reviewers are retarded. Smile

They reviewed the game with only the first 4 stages as their basis of the game. The 5th stage is the REAL game. The first 4 stages doesnt take long to beat. I think most reviews out there are too premature, and I don't think any of the reviewers have beat the game.

If they didn't mention the Groox empire in their reviews, their reviews are worthless. Smile

At first, I was thinking Spores sucks, basing on playing the first 4 levels, and reading reviews about how sucky it is. And when I got to the Space stage, I was a bit biases thinking it'd dull as the first 4 stages. To my surprise, its a GREAT space conquest game.

The Galaxy/Universe is HUGE!

There are a few game design tweaks, I would have liked to see, such as "multiple save files". Or automatic salvage of the 'cache' when you blow up ships out of the sky. Gets old and tedious to do after a while hunting for the bonus cash pots.

I'm enjoying the game very much.

Instead of an 8/10 which most sites have this game at. I'd say its a 9.5/10 or very close to a 10.

Guys, let's face it. Spore creators are some evil geniuses. They first gave around this "free" creature generator so everyone would have gone "ooooh Spore! cool!! Look, my friend, this is my little bitch!" And so everyone would create their own monster and it was fun. Then rumors the beasts could actually be put in some ONLINE WORLD watching them develop and interact and get all cool and build a world of your own OH WOW!!!! The idea was so freakin totally awesome a good 90% got to buy the game, it even featuring a better editor. That's more evil than Windows Vista. Marketing Skillz - they has dem.

Myself? Never even tried the basic demo editor lol.

Well, there is a misconception about the game being "multiplayer" or "online" or "MMO".

No there is no multiplayer aspect to the game. You just 'share' your creation with an online community. Which the game "pulls" created creatures from the online database INTO your local game.

The galaxy is soooo damn huge. So many planets/star systems etc... And it's populated with a variety of creatures. It's interesting to encounter other people's creation in your own local the game.

I did a bunch of "new games" and I ended up encounter my own creation from another game.

My sister started playing Spore a few days ago. She and her boyfriend created some .... strange creatures *g*. I've heared a lot of people complaining that the editor was the best thing about the game. Maybe I'll give it a try and play it myself to get my own opinion about it Smile

btw Did anyone who installed it face any problems with the Securom Copyprotection? I'd like to get Mass Effect but a lot of people had problems with Securom (damaged registry files etc.)

Okay. so after finishing the game... I'd say 8/10 is about right. Probably 8.5/10

I thought there was more of a story to the game. The Grox Empire are nothing more then just obstacles to the Galaxy Core.

The challenge of the game was getting to the Core. (finding the right path through the maze/nodes). The final cut scene animation was funny. Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy movie like humor or StarControl2 like humor.

the HUGE galaxy is just nothing more then a big maze that you can hop around from star to star once you get Hyperdrive 5. so it doesn't feel so big anymore. oh well... the game has a nice engine... just weak storymode and not soo deep of a gameplay as i had thought.

I had like 56 million sporebucks, and I started to go to the Galaxy Core and by the time I got to it, I realized I didn't need 56 million sporebucks. You probably only need about 1 million to really get there. Just need nuf money to stock up on medipaks and colonypaks, maybe another half million sporebucks should be fine?
