Hi Alley and everyone in AB NATION

It is the start of the Christmas Season. I know everyone will be out running around and too much to do and time will be flying by. I just want to make a suggestion to everyone out there, that will help someone have a better Christmas.

Each and every year, Wednesday and I go out and pick a giving Christmas Tree Wishs. We each read through the cards and each of us pick a Boy and a Girl. We also each pick 2 younger boys and girls and 2 young teens. This is a great way to help somebody who normally wouldn't have a gift for Christmas. We always find a tree that is put out by a Womans Shelter. These kids are going through alot and we try to show them that people do care about them.

Anyway, I wanted to just throw out the idea to you all. That while you are out shopping this year. Take a minute and find a Giving Wish Tree. They are out there all over the place. Find a tree, and grab a card from a kid who touches you. You don't have to spend a fortune. Find a card from someone that has a wish, that is within your budget, go buy the gift and attach the card to it. It will get to that child for Christmas.

You will feel so good knowing that you did a really good thing in helping make a childs Christmas a little better. Believe me when I tell you this. You will feel awesome. Give up that couple of pitchers of beer, or give up a couple of days of that very over rated and over priced Starbucks. Give up that night at the movies and get a dvd instead. Use that money and grab a card from a Wish Tree for a kid, and buy the gift.

I hope that you all keep this in mind this year. Also I know that all of you won't get around to doing it. But if I can get just 1 of you to grab a card from Wishing Tree and get the gift. Well then at least 1 more kid will have a better Christmas.

Sorry if I offend anyone. I just know that there are alot of really good people out there in AB NATION and I know alot of you will come through. Like I said you will feel great for doing a great thing for a deserving kid. I mean that's the beauty of the season. Doing something good for people that we don't even know. Very Happy

i usually donate to "toys for tots", but that is just putting a toy in a barrel - i like how you can read a card from an actual child and give a gift to that child - it makes it a lot more personal...

i'll have to keep an eye out for these wish trees!

We all have to be reminded sometimes what this holiday is about. Let's do what we can and give what we can.
