Wonder how this'll be recived compared to Destiny.
Also anyone notice the other MS' looks like they belong to Armored Core and some other robot series? |

Well I guess. Not to mention Eureka Seven, A.C.E 3 The Final and Super Robot Wars W.
The main mechs were really cool. And that is:
Excia specializes in Close Combat (Like the swords)
Dynames is actually a long range unit.
Kyrios is very cool. I like it's transformation so much that it became one of my fave gundams.
Virture is kinda fat, but has advantages in both Long and Short Ranged combat. Do you think? |

It's like SEED all over again...
Excia = Strike (but minus the Striker packs) or Blitz
Dynames = Buster when using its Long-range high output beam sniper rifle
Kyrios = Aegis
and
Virture = Buster but with more armor
Of course Seed gets that from Wing.... |

It just seems like lately all the new TV series resort to a group of all males with Gundams (notice not one female). It all started with G Gundam (5 guys and 5 Gundams), which lead to Wing (the same), X (3 and 3), Seed ( 5 and 5, but 1 on the Alliance and 4 with Zaft), and finally Destiny (4 guys (finally a female!) and 5 Gundams, but 3 are with the Alliance and 2 with Zaft). Of course Destiny is infamous for being a notorius copy of Seed. And finally Stargazer (4 and 3 males and 2 females(Stargazer is a two seater)).
I also noticed that for some reason there isn't a G-004 (maybe stolen!? (something that's also being used over and over...)).
With every group there is always the same formula. The main one is always best at close/medium range fighting. While there always has to be one that's best at long range, and one that transforms.
Odd how that out of the 8 series after Victory, only one has one main Gundam pilot and Gundam (till Turn X appears). Otherwise the others go Gundam crazy.
Now I don't mind this much, but I like to see more series where a Gundam is considered rare or one-of-a-kind. |

Personally, I am more fond of Zeta myself. Despite being the "God hates Kamile" show, I thought that it was very well done. |

The OP song of the series is confirmed. The song is Daybreak's Bell by L'arc~en~Ciel.
L'arc~en~Ciel also sang the songs from Fullmetal Alchemist and Great Teacher Onizuka. Wish I can hear the whole track when it's released. |

Promise not to bite me? Honestly, my favorite series in the Gundam franchise are the original (and its sequels), Gundam X (mainly for the cool robots) and, of course, G Gundam.
Yes, G Gundam: the only "Super Robot Gundam" show around. The one that many others hate.
On the other hand, I openly dislike Gundam Wing... Sorry, but that's the truth: Heero has less personality than Sousuke Sagara has, and not even a cute mini-mech (i.e. Bonta-Kun) to compensate, and the others only barely manage to recover (aside from Wufei, that other than being kinda weird - he joins the bad guy army on a whim, for goodness's sake - pilots a knockoff of G Gundam's Dragon Gundam!). |

I do notice that. I think both the Dragon Gundam and Shenlong/Altron/Altron Custom were sister machines. |

As much as I love the various Gundam series, I can't help but feel that I'd still rather have a Veritech. |

Naaah, the Valkyrie class variable fighters (as a purist, you'll never hear me call one a Var****h, nor call Macross Rob***h part 1 ) are good and fast, but don't reach the overall goodness of the Dragonar units |

I've just seen the first episode (with subs ) and I safely say it looks very intersting.
**WARNING SPOILERS**
It does have that Gundam Wing feel to it, like the Gundams are all god-like even against an army of units. It seems like that at first, but I'll have to wait and see how truly inbalanced the sides are. At first I doubted in seeing any space battles, but there was one here. We see each Gundam come out one at a time and we are given a sample of their abilities. The Potelmos' (spelling?) bridge seems a bit cramped, almost clostrophobic.
The episode starts out showing the the main character stuck in what seems like Iraq and the whole holy-war thing, but with MS. He gets shot at and a mysterious Gundam saves him. We are then lead to a AEU base where they are testing out a new type of MS called the AEU Enact (which was commented on being a copy of the Union Flag abeit some cosmetic differences), then Exia comes in and attacks it and easily takes it down (along with its hugely arrogant and egotitcal pilot.) After, Exia runs off and gets chased by at least half a dozen MAs high up in the sky. He remains untouched and takes a couple down till we see Gundam Dynames on the ground (with a Haro co-pilot like in V Gundam) and snipe most of them with easy (much to the surprise of the no-names.)
Then zoom to space where a party is being held in an orbital platform and suddenly the Human Reform League notices something too large to be debris and found out they're actually terrorist MS and complain about the AEU (or was it the Union?) selling MS to every willing to pay third world countries (a lot like now.) They in response deploy their Space-use Tierens and pursure, but no surprise they can't catch up. Suddenly we see the terrorist MS' carrying a large missle pod and launch three missles at the party. As expected the HRL MS can't intercept them in time. Then Gundam Kyrios appears in MA form and takes out the missles and then all of the terrorists except one. The pilot then sees the final one is speeding towards the platform and it's specially equipped for a kamakazie attack. Then finally Gundam Virture appears near the platform and uses its large beam cannon and easily (over)kills the remaining unit.
We move ahead a few hours later where a huge news report about the incident is shown all over the world. Mid-way into the report the JNN gets a tape from the group responseable of stopping the attack. The tape is played and we suddenly see an old man sitting in what seems like a large old-world mansion. The man makes his speech, which says they are the Celestrial Beings and it is their responsebility to end all wars on earth no matter the reason they are started such as land, money, or religion. They also proclaim that they will stop all groups, orginizations, corperations, or governments that want war. It ends with us seeing all the characters and some random people talk about, like they're basically trying to end war with war and the Celestrial Being people all basically say that it finally begins.
Like I said ealier the show and plot seems a bit Gundam Wing like, but luckily so far there is some teamwork from the start unlike Wing. Of course my only realy problem is with four Gundam Meisters. The second I heard Setsuna speak I instantly thought, "He talks just like Heero with the same kind of monotone." Apparently this almost goes for all four of them. Even when one of them was happy his voice barely changed. They all look, speak, and act fairly emotionless. Lockon is the only one that seem to show emotion (barely.) Otherwise it looks good so far, just hope they just don't screw-up half way like Destiny.
If you have any questions feel free to ask. |

That's not the Dynames, it the RX-78 Gundam, redrawn in 00 version.
And yes, I've send the first episode, it's kinda a bit like Wing+SEED Combined. |

Looks better than the original. Though it sorta reminds me of Duel AS, but without the big guns.
I think they're making like 3 side things in total. One is a prequel to the series, another is a side story, and the other is a series of short stories from the perspective of the other characters except the Gundam Meisters.
And the prototype Exia looks alot like Strike.
