this post is my research on how to make a hybrid/chimera
step one you would have to make a retrovirus with the genetic code with the animal or reptile you would want.
step two make shur the retrovirus will stay dormant and not kill the host that you pick to carry it.
step three you need a human that can reproduce.
step four you have to introduce the retrovirus into the host.
step five have the host mate if a female was picked have her conceive a child that would have the retrovirus in his blood stream activate the retrovirus that would bind with the DNA of the child.
step six when that happens he would start to slowly turn to what the retrovirus was programed to
that's about as basic as i can put it for right now if there are any questions about what i have right now don't be afraid to ask. |

yes we are in a since that's why this would probably never happen as of right now until we could make the retrovirus to work on the host with out killing him or her so they could be a chimera and not there child but that wont happen unless we start somewhere. |

that's not what i meant by a chimera, my retrovirus is suppose to work is to keep the same body structure of the human just adds animal treats to the outer body like fur a muzzle and tail now if you wanted to get a little more on the animal side i suppose i could model it to give a set of wings or scales but not the four legged aspect simply because that's to much change for the human body to try and under go it would most likely kill the subject. |

Ahh, ok. Correct me if I'm wrong, the virus doesn't work on humans that have already been born (like adults etc.) ? |

well that's what I'm hoping for but i have never got to test it on any human so i don't know, but if it where to take affect then the results could be bad. for instance a grown person who got infected might have some change but with the strain on the body and the body trying to fight the virus it could end very badly if you know what i mean.... that's part of the reason that i have not tested it on a human yet. now i have dose some animal cross breading and so far i get a 50% success rate but that not good enough to go all willy nilly with it
the main reason that you would not want it to affect a grown person is because there body has already grown past its primal state now if it where to say infect a kid that's about 3 or 4 years old then there would be no problem because he is still growing and the virus would just move in on its own and take over the spots it was build for. |

I have a intrest in this but i have to say im not much into doing such a thing, it does have the possablity to do this with the techology we have maybe but its playing god then there are the morals & what Henkcobra said there will be ethical questions... |

well like i said before and that why i cant stress the fact that this can only be voluntary but even i would not volunteer for the procedure simply because of the fact that it goes agents all logical stand points because the host would not change but the child will and that's not what people want i so as of right now its on my back burner list until we have the ability to make it work on the host and not just the child
so with that said I'm going back to my lab for the night and see how my subjects are doing on another one of my retroviruses |

depends on how you raise one you could raise it to be the most deadly thing anyone has ever meet or now i know this may sound sick because of the fact that it would be born and not made but you could condition it to be a sex slave (not saying i would do that) and any where in between so it all depends on what the owner would want it for |

Personally Gene-Splicing the desired traits and adding them to an unborn fetus would be better. You'd have to coerce the body to to grow the right appendages, because in the end DNA "LOVES" being random. Said Tail could be on the child's belly or wolf eye on his ass. I guess we're thinking of something like the Hulk here, where daddy does experiments on himself, but child has the traits when passed on, and is the Ultimate Goal. You could say humans are already going down that road. DNA tampering I mean, alot of food these days are pumped with hormones to help grow them faster, and as such the childre, even us, when we where young ate this food. Go back 125 years, see the average height of humans back then, compare it to todays and you'll do this @_@ "Damnnnnnnnn." Tis my thought. I am pretty tall for my family, and on both sides my family are like 5 foot 5 to 5 foot 8 . Whilest I'm at 6 foot 1, damn near 6 foot 2 |

you have a great point there but the reason you do not want to infect the fetus because how would you get it to be born the only way that's possible is through natural berth and the mothers womb essentially says what the baby's going to be.
now yes its kind of like the first hulk movie but its not in the same way you see if the dad was infected then if the child was a boy then your chance of having a chimera would increase dramatically and where as if it where a girl but your chances would still be very high in that retrospect and this is not something you could control or get rid of like they show in the movies this is something your child would have to live with his/her whole life that's the biggest flaw with this so far. |

Will there be a possabliity that the DNA be unstable once chimera is fully grown, i mean once its done growning can it become unstable at one point? |

the possibility of that happening is not really known seeing how i have not tested it on humans so i don't know how it would turn out but yes there is a possibility, but if there is a degeneration in the cells it would happen during development stages more so than at full growth. |
