For those that don't know what a theremin is, here's an exert of what the Wikipedia has on it.
"Unique among musical instruments, the theremin is performed without touching it. The musician stands in front of the instrument and moves his or her hands in the proximity of two metal antennae. The distance from one antenna determines frequency (pitch), and the distance from the other controls amplitude (volume). Typically the right hand controls the pitch and the left controls the volume, although some performers reverse this arrangement. The distance between the performer's hand and the volume control antenna determines the capacitor's value, which regulates the theremin's volume." |

From what I've learned, Theremin also invented a full body instrument (originally intended to be played by a dancer) but it didn't work out as well. It's an interesting idea though. A dancer's dance creating the music he/she is dancing to. |

Is this conversation about a video-game? The last one I played was Super Mario Bros. when I was 16.
Just curious. |

Its about the instrument. That some guy was able to learn how to use and he played the Zelda theme music with it.
In that video, it was showing him actually playing the instrument. Kind of crazy, it it seems like it was his hands floating in air.

Yes, his hands did not actually touch the theremin itself. The only exception that I can find to that is touching the volume control antenna to cut off the sound all together. I suppose it's how one would create a 'pause' in the music, since the theremin would otherwise be constantly broadcasting sound. |
