Xbox Live and Internet Explorer have teamed up. The first wave of the Xbox Live Public Beta of the new dashboard, which includes the Internet Explorer app, is live!
Can Xbox get any cooler??
(p.s. you have to have signed up for the Beta program to participate. If you want to join, check your email linked to your Xbox profile. You should have an email about it.) |

I don't know. I think XBox actually lost quite a few cool points when they adopted that stupid "Mii" styled avatar thing that the Wii has. |

Why use the internet on a console at home when its easier to just access it through a computer? |

I know what you mean, Silvador. The Avatar was a bit of a knock-off of the Wii. It's fun to play with but not much is there to do with the mini-dude or chick other than Avatar-feature able games.
And I also see what you mean, too, Rune. Why console Internet when ou have a computer? Maybe some don't have a computer. I don't see why you wouldn't considering atleast a laptop. But some just don't care for one. I think Xbox just wanted to stay with the competition since both the PS3 and Wii have it standard.
And by no means am I defending the console as far as saying "Well, I like it cuz of this." I'm only saying my opinion on the system and stating possibilities.
I think a computer is much more handy than a console internet but some people just want the console to have Internet.
But that's 'Console Competition' for ya. Just how it works. |

It depends on tastes I guess. i would happen to use the youtube feature if I ever took my xbox with me to the local cardshop, but the net is only really worth using if you have the tools, like the connectable datapad. |

I think they are only adding the web browser becuase the wii and the PS3 have one as well.
I feal "meh," about it. Seens while haveing a browser on a consol was usful when my computer was on the frits or in the middle of a major problem, I still perfer useing a PC based internet browser. |

Microsoft probably figure, everything else has internet access, why not the XBox? I mean, seriously, phones, tablets (iPads and other such tablet based portable devices), TVs are getting internet connection these days as well. Hell, there's even fridges out there with computers in them for internet access and crap. |

Hmmm, a gimmick is a gimmick. Remember on the original xbox when the PS2 had a dvd function on board. Then the only way to use it on their system was with a stupid remote accessory. |
