Well everyone. This is my last post for a few weeks. Our internet will be cutting out by the time I wake, and I'll be finishing my tour of Iraq.
I will try and make contact, but sadly this forum is blocked for its content on our military free internet. If anything major happens, I'll send word through Ronald or Vanessa.

Well, I'm a little more westward now. I'm out of Iraq and waiting for our international flight home.
I'd like to thank you all, and this will be my final reply until around the 15th, where I should be back safe and sound in my own bed by then.
*hugz and kisses to all* I look forward to all your company once again, but not to the giant pile of "catch-up" that will be hitting me when I sign in to PBB once again.
Also Ashton, the words were not of just a poem, but a song entitled "A tout le monde" by Megadeath. I find them very truthful, and a safe bet of words to leave upon if they would be my last, for they are true. "To all of you, my friends, I love you all, but I must go."
Other than the fact that I will physically be gone for some time, the more spiritual "I must go, for it is my time" also comes into play at the song's bridge:
"So as you read, know my friends, I'd love to stay with you all. Please smile. Smile when you think about me. My body's gone thats all." |

Indeed Tursi. I'm back home in the states, safe and sound.
I can proudly say we accomplished our mission, and with the prayers and thoughts of others, our unit is one of the few, if not the first, to come back with 0 casualties!
I'll be back, but there may be a few days inbetween my replies, as I'll be visiting friends and well wishers.

Xebulon, I was with the 1744 Transportation Company. However, we didn't do our transportation job. We were changed at the last minute to "Cav Scouts" or rather, we were armored escorts within "ASVs".

We were armored escorts for wreckers to go recover downed vehicles. We also took other ASVs to the "range" to get practice with their weapons.
I did various other jobs as well. |
