So apparently the people who worked on the original Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie are going to do a sequel or a revision of the movie... without Joss Whedon's involvement!

I'm as baffled as you are... full story here: http://tinyurl.com/ol6crq

Any other Buffy fans out there want to share their opinions?

As I recall, our dear Joss has been working with Marvel on his own series of X-Men. Is it perhaps that he would be too busy to take time for the movie?

Anyways, I should thank you for the reminder, I still need to finish downloading Firefly.

"Downloading"? Shoot, the DVD boxset isn't that expensive... I got mine for around $22, I think...

I might consider that the next time I'm out. After all, my connection isn't so great at download speed.

Indeed, it is often that a crucial member of such works holds the key to success, remove it and only failure awaits you.

I can't think of too many people who were satisfied with X-3, all because they decided to replace Bryan Singer rather than wait. Not to mention they killed cyclops because James Marsden chose to join Singer on work in Superman Returns.

Got mine here for about 30$ Smile and I was quite UPSET that Joss killed two of the main characters in the movie. Lately I found some nice posters (showing "The Verse") and a few pictures (http://store.quantummechanix.com/Keep-Flyin-Serenity-Scenes-Poster-Set_p_0-56.html )

I came to Firefly/Serenity through a quite funny way ^^. I was looking for a special Star Trek model kit (USS Voyager with lighting kit) and found a few only stores that sell it (totally overpriced !). I was curios what "Serenity" was and clicked on the images, they had a Serenity model in stock Smile I looked up some information on it and could rent the movie. A short while later I could get the DVD box for a good price. So I watched the series and the movie kind of "the wrong way" Very Happy

I kinda did it the same way... a friend of mine, who was a fan of the series, was really talking-up this new Serenity movie when it was coming to theaters. I had heard of Firefly, but hadn't gotten around to watching the TV series when it was originally on, so I didn't know much about what he was talking about. So I ended up seeing the movie with my roommate, and then we both got interested in renting the series from the local video store.

I now own the series, but still haven't gotten around to buying the movie. Then again, there's a lot of movies I want to get my hands on...

Ah, Firefly/Serenity. I saw a trailer for the movie, thought it seemed cool, then almost forgot about it until my sister started talking about the series and movie. Can't remember how she found it, but after watching the first episode, I was hooked. I've watched the series a few times and the movie lots of times.

As for the Buffy thing, I never really watched the series, never saw the movie; I don't think the sequel will be particularly good without Joss, though that opinion could be wrong.
