J-Pop/J-Rock music were from Japan. And I always listen to them everyday.

So what's the deal?

Bump.

J-Rock and J-Pop are okay. I discovered something a little better from watching one of my animes, however: Eurobeat. (Anime in question is Initial D). For those of you who aren't familiar with it, here's essentially how it works:

Step One:

Think of one of your favorite mid- to late-80s rock songs. This is essentially the quality of the lyrics that you'll find. A few decent ones, most ridiculously bad, and occasionally a gem or two.

Step Two:

Cut out all the music in the track and replace the singer with a different one who has difficulty pronouncing certain words not found in his/her native language.

Step Three:

Create a fast timed, heart pumping mix with synthesizers, orchestral interludes and electric guitars to match the lyrics. If you're lucky it won't turn on you and bite you in the ass after you've put it together.

Step Four:

Find a willing anime production company, propose your mix in one of their episodes, and sit back and wait for the paycheck. If all goes well, you'll have fanboys buying CDs with your name on them in no time.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is Eurobeat.

As disgusting as my description sounds, the production companies are usually pretty good about filtering the good from the bad, and most of the time the tracks tend to work to their advantage.

If you've ever listened to the opening for any good anime, there's a theme song behind it that seems to match perfectly.

But J-Pop and J-Rock...well...I'm not the biggest fan.

(Yeah, I know...completely off-topic. Oh well. Very Happy )
