Your money is best spent on World of Warcraft.
Most of the reviews for The Bards Tale says its not that great.

I've never tried it. Might be possible with some windows settings. To emulate the old DOS window. You might have to setup some special executable .pif file. |

You can also use an emulator like DOSBox, it should let you play Bard's Tale with no problems, according to the compatibility list. |

I don't know how knowledgeable you are, so I'll try to give you a step-by-step.
That depends on which version of Bard's Tale you have. If it's the PC version, all you should have to do is put the files in a folder like C:\BARDSTALE, then run DOSBox. At the DOSBox window, type in something to the effect of MOUNT F C:\BARDSTALE, then F:, and then type whatever file you need to start Bard's Tale (which could be bard.com or something like that). If you aren't sure, type DIR and look at the list of files, one of them should end with .BAT, .EXE., or .COM.
The above is assuming you want to put Bard's Tale on your C: drive, and that you don't have anything on your F: drive, like a DVD-ROM drive.
If it's not the PC version of the Bard's Tale (it was released for the Apple, the C64, and other systems) then you'll need an emulator and that's a whole other ball game. |

Doesn't have Bard's Tale, but here's a site I go to that has tons of old computer games.

Just remember to follow the download rules so you don't get banned either temporarily or permanently. |

Yeah! Great site. It's funny, when I first found out about the site, I mainly visited to download titles. Now I visit just to read the descriptions of the new titles as they bring back so many memories.
Also, they have a good section on how to run older games on newer computers. |

And programs to slow down computers to play some of those older games. |
